About

John Hite is an American born musician, songwriter, and producer.  He has been performing live music professionally since he was a young teen.  His main instrument is the piano, however he also plays guitar, and can pluck out a song on just  about  any  instrument he  picks up.    Hite studied music theory and literature in college, then went on to study voice under the watchful eye of Maestro David Kyle.  Kyle taught many superstars including Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby.   Kyle developed Hite’s counter tenor voice and wide vocal range which enables him to croon out smooth jazz, soulful blues or rough and aggressive rock vocals. His solo show brings the hits from the last 50 years to life.

Hite has worked as the keyboard player and vocalist for the regionally popular band Countryfied for over 30 years.     Countryfied   has shared the stage with dozens of national   acts  from  Merle Haggard, to Jefferson Starship, and many, in between.

His vast experience and easy going smile on and off stage makes for a relaxed and fun performance.

Hite also has experience working directly with gold and platinum selling artists such as Danity Kane whose hip hop album debuted at number 1, and Alexis Ebert whose song “The Real Me” was featured in the Disney movie “Confessions Of   A  Teenage Drama Queen,” and sold over half a million copies.

“Music for everyone,” says Hite.  His current solo show is called “Rock-n Roll and Sappy Love Songs.  “The show is a great mix of songs that span the decades of Rock and Roll.  There’s Elton John, Billy Joel, Lone Star, Christopher Cross, Burt Bacharach, Styx, and lot’s more.”

“This show features just me and the piano.  It is an intimate show with some stories behind the songs I’ve chosen to play.”

“John is such a versatile talent vocally and on multiple instruments.  Watching him perform is exciting, entertaining, and enjoyable for crowds of all sizes and musical tastes.  ……He’s also nice to look at.”

“Ultimately, music is a conversation  between the writers, the performers, and the listener’s heart.”

To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable.”

        Ludwig Von Beethoven

“I have been on both sides of the stage with John Hite. I’ve hired him and have also been an audience member. When he sings, he makes you feel as though he’s singing directly to you, for you and because of you. His talent is amazing! I’ve watched him take a crowd of less than enthusiastic party goers, and get them out of their seats! He will always be the first person I call.”
